PAYING YOUR TUITION
Stratford University fully participates in all Veterans Administration programs and can help you maximize your benefits. Stratford has a special program to reduce your out-of-pocket expense if you use Tuition Assistance to pay for your program.
MAINTAINING YOUR BALANCE
While we work with all military students to reduce your out-of-pocket expenses, you must pay the remaining balance by the end of each quarter. You can use Federal Financial Aid, VA Top-up, or simply pay from savings. You cannot carry a balance forward and will not be permitted to enroll in classes unless you have a zero-balance or or have set up an alternate method of payment with your Student Account office.
TUITION PAYMENTS
Students who are using Chapter 30, Montgomery GI Bill benefits must make payment arrangements through their Student Accounts office. Students using the Post-9/11 GI Bill will have their VA tuition sent directly to the school and will only be responsible for the remaining balance (if any).
GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
TUITION ASSISTANCE FOR ACTIVE DUTY
Stratford University processes Tuition Assistance (TA) for the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines. The Military Student Office helps all active military navigate the educational system to secure this benefit.
TA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Active military personnel, using tuition assistance, can receive a scholarship to offset nearly 50% of the tuition. This program is designed to reduce the out-of-pocket expense for active duty military.
This scholarship will reduce the cost of a 4.5 credit course to only $750.00. This tuition is substantially lower than regular tuition for a graduate course of $2,227.50 and an undergraduate course of $1,665. This information is summarized on the table below.
TA SCHOLARSHIP TUITION REDUCTION
ACADEMIC LEVEL | CREDITS | FULL TUITION | TUITION WITH TA SCHOLARSHIP |
UNDERGRADUATE | 4.5 | $1,665* | $750* |
GRADUATE | 4.5 | $2,227.50* | $750* |
*Tuition does include required textbooks *Does not apply to the Nursing Program |
*Since the scholarship only applies to tuition, you will still have some out-of-pocket expense for laboratory or culinary classes which carry additional fees. You can use the Veterans Administration Tuition Assistance Top-up program to pay for any educational expenses not covered by tuition assistance. Please note that this tuition assistance scholarship does not apply to the nursing program.
TA PAYMENT CAPS
APPLYING FOR TA
You can contact your Education Office and apply for TA. The Air Force and Army TA allow you to apply for TA online. The other services require that you submit a TA Request form to your Education Office. Links to these online applications and forms is found under Useful MSO Links
Once your TA is approved you can bring the documentation to Stratford and we will calculate any additional payments which may be due. We have tried to keep these additional payments as low as possible by providing a generous TA scholarship.
