Biography

Tariq Khan, the founder and CEO of Global Diversity Marketing and Global Diversity University, is a recognized business leader, executive coach and sought- after speaker on leadership, strategy, changing market trends, customer relationships, social media services, and diversity & inclusion. Tariq’s work has been highlighted in interviews and articles that have been published in trade and industry publications nationally and globally. Global Diversity Marketing, Inc. is a management consulting firm focused on helping organizations better understand the changing marketplace. His client list includes major global companies.

Tariq is best known for his thought leadership, leading corporate diversity initiatives while creating the business case for diversity and inclusion.  Throughout his distinguished twenty-year career, he held senior leadership roles at global Fortune companies including MetLife, Nationwide, and ING. In his last corporate position, Tariq was senior vice president and head of market development for ING, where he created and implemented their innovative strategy to expand into growing emerging markets.

Tariq has traveled around the globe and has developed, supported, and managed the largest and most diverse sales force in the financial services industry. He developed several award-winning marketing and branding campaigns, including groundbreaking programs for the African American, Asian, Hispanic, and Women’s markets.

Tariq has made equally impressive contributions in the non-profit area. He serves on several prestigious boards including the Asian and Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund, the Asian Pacific Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS) and Ascend. He also serves as the board of trustee at Stratford University.

In addition, Tariq is also an adjunct professor of marketing and leadership, teaching graduate courses at New York University. Tariq holds a bachelor’s degree in international marketing and advertising from Baruch College, an MBA in marketing and management from St. John’s University and an Executive Management Certificate from Babson College. He has spoken at many industry conferences on leadership, diversity and inclusion, cultural competency, connecting with millennials, social media trending and disruption. Tariq has been a platform speaker and has shared the stage with Fortune CEOs and a U.S. President.
