School’s Military Initiatives Honored for being “Better for Veterans”
Stratford University announced today that it has been named a Top 10 Gold Military Friendly® School Award recipient for its ongoing commitment in providing veterans with post-military education and career opportunities.
Stratford, which has a total of eight campuses located in Virginia, Baltimore, Md., and New Delhi, India, provides a wide range of veteran engagement activities for students year round. The school operates a one-stop service shop for military and veteran students at each campus and hired full-time veterans to help with the transition for students and new veteran employees.
A certified Virginia Values Veterans (V3) business, Stratford also received the Perseverando Award (meaning “to persevere”) from Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe in both 2015 and 2016 for its commitment to creating employment opportunities for Virginia’s veterans.
“We are extremely proud of all of Stratford’s efforts to ensure that our country’s veterans, active duty military, and their families have the opportunity to receive a quality education and prepare for a career after their service,” said Mary Ann Shurtz, Executive Vice President of Stratford University. “We are honored to be named a Top 10 Gold Military Friendly® school.”
