Stratford’s Applied Doctoral Programs are designed to bring your experience and your interests to the classroom—transform them—then unleash your breakthroughs into real-world scenarios that you create!

Based on contemporary thought versus traditional approach, our courses seek to unleash your creativity and provide you with challenging new ways to think about the future and put your ideas into action. Doctoral Business students benefit from the concurrent delivery of Information Technology courses.

While the Doctor of Business Administration is approved through ACICS, the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation only recognizes ACICS’ scope of accreditation through the Master’s degree level.

Admission Requirements

Stratford University Applied Doctoral Programs help to prepare current and future business and IT leaders for navigating the evolving intelligence terrain necessary to lead enterprises to greater heights of value creation for customers, employees, shareholders, and the global community.

Admission Requirements
  • Completion of Application and Enrollment Agreement
  • Master’s Degree in specified field of study with a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • A TOEFL score of 550 or equivalent score if English is not the primary language
  • Resume outlining a minimum of 5 years of significant professional work experience in the related field of study
  • A 750-word statement of purpose indicating the applicant's interest in pursuing the advanced degree and the relationship to their future goals
  • A 750-word research and writing sample; a specified topic is provided for each cohort
  • Two letters of recommendation that demonstrate capability to succeed at doctoral-level studies
  • Candidate approval by selection committee
  • An applicant is accepted subject to successfully completing the first 800-level Research and Writing course with a grade of B or higher.
  • Doctoral candidates may retake the Qualitative Research and Academic Writing course once with the approval of the Program Chair.
Time and Location
  • Programs are campus-based and offered only at the Falls Church Campus.
  • Classes will be held on Friday evening and Saturday morning.
International Students
  • International students are eligible to enroll in the program as F-1 Visa students.
