After graduating with a bachelor of business administration (BBA) degree from Temple University, he worked in public accounting. After having passed the CPA exam, he went on to Temple University School of Law; where he received his Juris Doctor (JD) degree. After passing the bar examination, he served in various capacities, including service as a judge advocate with the Department of the Navy and in local government taxation. |

Department: BUS Description: Mohammad Abedin was born in Iran. When he was 27 years old he came to the United States using a Scholarship from Iranian Navy to get his Master’s degree in Computer Science. He attended George Washington University and almost at the end of his program he had to go back to Iran because of revolution. He managed to come back to U.S in 1981. He started to work for Strayer University from 1982 and finished his Master’s degree in Computer Science with them. During the past 27 years he worked as a Campus Manager and Dean for Strayer and now is a full-time faculty of Business and Computer Science at Strayer. Five years ago he started a PhD. program with Nova South Eastern University and currently is working on it. Prof Abedin teaches Business and Computer classes for Stratford University during the day time and weekends. |

Name: Dr. Brook Beshah Department: BUS Description: Professor Brook Hailu Beshah, who until recently was the deputy permanent representative of Ethiopia to the UN (UNESCO) and the deputy ambassador of Ethiopia to the U.S. where he played a key role in the bilateral relations between Ethiopian and US governments. He also oversaw public diplomacy activities in reaching out to the American public; the Ethiopian Diaspora; U.S.-based NGOs, think tanks, religious and humanitarian organizations. Professor Beshah has an in-depth knowledge of the workings of the UN and played a role in the deliberations and adoption of international conventions such as the Convention on the protection and promotion of the diversity of cultural expressions and the International Convention against Doping in Sport. He also participated in the follow up, implementation and monitoring process of enacted conventions such as the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and the Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights. Currently Dr. Brook H. Beshah is an adjunct professor at TWC; at the Elliott School of International Affairs, George Washington University and at the University of Maryland University College. Dr. Beshah was also a long term academic in the Department of Political Science and International Relations of Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia and taught international relations, political science and media courses. He was also the Head of the External Relations Office of Addis Ababa University promoting academic and research collaborations with US, European and African universities, research institutions and supervising international student exchange programs. He was sought and served as an expert political analyst for interviews for African related political, conflict resolution, cultural and media issues by the international corps of press, radio and TV media personnel. Professor Beshah received his Ph. D. from Leipzig University (international political communications); M.A. Certificate, Ohio University; M.A., Leipzig University (political science and international relations); B.A., Addis Ababa University (political science and international relations). Name: Dr. Joseph Cox Department: BUS Description: Professor Cox's career spans 40 plus years and three career paths. Upon graduation with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Masters of Science in Business Administration (Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, 1965, 1966 respectively) he entered the U. S. Air Force. During the ensuing 21 years he was stationed in Europe, Asia, and various areas within the United States. Upon retirement in 1987, he began a civilian career as a consultant to the Federal Aviation Administration which was followed by a 10 years as a program manager for Unisys Corporation until his retirement from Unisys in 2008. He has over 15 year's program management experience. In addition to the aforementioned, he began teaching at San Antonio College in 1968 as an adjunct economics professor. His adjunct teaching continued at University of Maryland University College in the Far East, Europe, and Washington, DC. He has taught graduate and undergraduate Marketing, Economics, Personnel Management, Management, and other business courses at St. Leo College, Golden Gate University, Christopher Newport University, William and Mary, and Capital College. |

She is current working on her PhD in IT Management, at Capella University in Minnesota, and is expecting to complete her PhD program later this year. André is a management consulting professional with over 12 year’s management consulting experience with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in the Caribbean. Areas of expertise include process engineering, organizational design, financial management, performance measurement and strategic planning. After spending several years in consulting, André has decided to spend some time in his second love, academia. Name: Andrea Foster Department: BUS Description: Professor Foster is a graduate of University of Maryland and holds a Master of Science in Computer Systems Management with a specialization in Information Resources Management and a Master of Science in International Management. A former diplomat, Professor Foster has also worked in information technology, education, the legal field and international development. Professor Foster frequently consults for several domestic and international companies on IT and business projects. She also consults for several major publishers on textbook development and new educational technology and serves on several focus groups relating to the development of new instructional materials. Professor Foster teaches in one of three disciplines: international business, information technology and business management. She has taught at both two year and four year colleges. In addition to consulting, Professor Foster also teaches at John Tyler Community College, and Central Texas College. She is currently working on a number of articles for publication in the field of international business and management. She is a member of the Board of Computer CORE and a member of the Academy of Legal Studies in Business. |

Dr. Issar has been teaching Finance, Small Business Management and International Management at Strayer University. Her expertise in Economic Value Added (EVA) financial management system provides her with extensive experience and tools to analyze corporate strategies and risk of capital in today’s environment. Name: Dr. K. Habib Khan Department: BUS Description: Dr. Khan currently serves as Chief Academic Officer at Stratford University. He brings a wealth of management experiences directing academic and non-academic programs in many sectors in both, national and international settings. For example, he served as a Provost and Executive Vice President of Virginia International University, based in Fairfax, VA. In addition, he served as Central Office Education Administrator for the Public Schools in Stillwater, Minnesota and Country Director of US Peace Corps in Sierra Leone, West Africa. In this capacity he managed one of the largest US Peace Corps programs in Africa with 220 US Peace corps Volunteers in sectors such as education, health, agriculture, fisheries and enterprise development. He also served as First Secretary at the American Embassy in South Africa and directed a portfolio of $380 million grant to the Government of South Africa, working with highest levels of the South African Government. During this period, he managed a special project entitled University Linkages between US Universities and South African institutions of higher learning. In this capacity he worked closely with some 40 university presidents (Americans and South Africans) to implement policy reforms, curriculum innovations, executive and faculty development representing 50 institutions of higher learning in South Africa, including technical oriented universities. Dr. Khan earned his Ph. D in Educational Psychology from Indiana University, Bloomington, and Master of Science degree from University of Wisconsin. He also completed a Post-graduate Executive Fellowship at the Business School, University of Minnesota. |

Mr. Mackey has concurrently worked extensively in the lobbying and political arenas in Washington DC for both private concerns and political committees. He has planned, executed, and supervised state, regional and national legislative campaigns for corporate and political clients. Name: Denise Miller Department: BUS Description: Professor Denise Miller received [summa cum laude] her BS in Accounting, and MBA in Human Resource Management from Strayer University in Alexandria, Virginia. She has also completed many graduated level accounting courses, and currently studying for her PhD in Applied Management and Decision Sciences with a Specialization in Accounting at Walden University. Professor Denise Miller worked for the government for 23 years. She began her career in the United States Army and later worked as a lead auditor for a government inspector general agency. As an auditor, Professor Denise Miller was responsible for leading team members to the completion of nationwide complex audits. She has also been an active member of the Institute of Internal Auditors since 2006. In 2009, Professor Denise Miller decided to pursue a career in her passion, academia teaching. Her love for teaching finds her lecturing in business and accounting courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. She joined Stratford University in March 2009. |

He has served as counsel and coach to numerous organizations in all aspects of behavior-based communication (writing, presenting, interviewing, and non-verbals) for more than 25 years. One of his clients was Johnson & Johnson for the Tylenol crisis. He has been a guest lecturer at more than a dozen universities, a keynote speaker and seminar leader at numerous national and international conferences (including the World Economic Forum (in Davos), and has taught extensively at the graduate and undergraduate levels for various universities. HarperBusiness has published three of his books on communication subjects. |

Name: Dr. Chandra Ranade Department: BUS Description: Dr. Ranade has a long experience in economic development, project analysis and management, econometrics and planning, and mathematics. He did Master of Statistics (in Econometrics and Planning in 1969) from the Indian Statistical Institute, Calcutta, India; Ph.D. from Cornell University in international agricultural development (in 1977); and Master of Arts in Teaching from Johns Hopkins University (in 2005). He has published numerous articles on various topics in international development, mathematical economics and vertically integrated organizations. During his professorship at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad he was involved in teaching courses and doing consultancy in managerial economics, marketing organizations, cooperative organizations and international finance (World Bank). During his long tenure at the World Bank Dr. Ranade worked on several countries in Sub Saharan Africa, Transition Economies of the Former Soviet Union, Middle East, Nepal, Vietnam and the Philippines. In the World Bank he was involved in preparing, appraising and supervising numerous Bank financed projects, in preparing sector reports and in organizing training programs for trainers and policy makers. |

Name: Dr. Mehdi Rashidian Department: BUS Description: Professor Mehdi rashidian graduated from Wichita State University with a BSEE in Electrical Enginerring and Computer Science. He obtained an MS in Electrical Engineering from the George Washington University and a Doctor of science from the George Washington University. Dr. Rashidian worked for the National Library of medicine at the National Institutes of Health as Communication Engineer and conducted research in Biomedical Engineering. He left to start Microland Inc. While serving as presidant of Microland, he acquired Hi-Tech Corporation, a publicly held corporation specializing in Tempest desing and manufacturing. Dr. Rashidian has an extensive background in business operations including contract management, administration, and negotiations. Dr. Rashidian has served as member of VAR advisory committee at IBM Corporation. Dr.Rashidian has been teaching Advance Technology and Principles of Modern Management for past 15 years. |

Name: Zia Rawish Department: BUS Description: Professor A. Zia Rawish received his BA in economics from Kabul University, Kabul-Afghanistan. He has also completed many undergraduate classes in Accounting, Finance, and Statistics. Since Prof Rawish graduated first not only in his classes but in six departments, he was able to become faculty member at Kabul University. He accepted teaching career partly to avoid military service in Afghanistan not to fight against his own countrymen and partly because of love for teaching and learning. He taught at Kabul University Economics, Finance, and Mathematics classes for more than 5 years. While teaching there, he completed all course work towards his MA/MBA in National Economic Planning and Business Administration concentrated in Finance.Since the condition of living got worse in Afghanistan, like many other Afghans, he got to flee Afghanistan. In Peshawar, Pakistan, he worked with the United Nations Demining Head Quarters as a Finance Officer. In July of 1991, Prof Rawish was awarded the Weber Scholarship (formerly known as Fulbright) so he left United Nations to come to the United States to study economics at the University of Missouri in Kansas City where he received his MA in Economics. Since 1995, he has been teaching at Strayer University Economics, Mathematics, and Finance classes. He has been teaching at Stratford University since 2000. Prof Rawish has worked in economics, finance, and investment related fields. He has a consulting business license in Virginia and since 1997 has been researching global financial markets. His research interests consist of investment in foreign currencies and stocks. He is also interested in global poverty reduction or elimination. |

Name: Henry Rothkopf Department: BUS Description: Professor Rothkopf brings 26 years of experience in government project / program management, advanced technology concepts and applications, enterprise solutions, and technical leadership in helping government agencies define, architect, acquire and deploy software intensive systems. After graduation he worked for the Iraq Petroleum Company (IPC) as associate accountant until relocated to Algiers, Algeria to work for the Algerian National Oil Company (SONATRACH). In 1977 he completed his Masters degree at the Institute of Business Administration in Rennes, France. He defended his PhD thesis in finance in June of 1984 and graduated from University of Rennes, France. Dr. Tashjian worked for the Saudi Educational Mission in California from 1985 to 1989 and as a financial consultant with Abu Dhabi Investment Authority in New York and Washington, DC from 1990 to2000. Name: Mark Carter Department: BUS Description: Mr. Carter is an accomplished executive and entrepreneur with broad experience in finance, accounting, audit, investigations and internal controls. He has served as a Chief Financial Officer in both large and small companies. He was a founder and Chief Financial and Operations Officer of CoreFacts, LLC, a high technology investigations and litigation support company. He developed and implemented all financial and operational support systems and guided CoreFacts through its sale to a public company. Prior to his venture with CoreFacts, Mr. Carter spent eleven years with Bell Atlantic Corporation. His tenure at Bell Atlantic began in internal auditing where he eventually headed a group responsible for assessing risks, developing plans, and executing audits of all financial and operational aspects of telephone company operations. Later, as the head of worldwide security, he established programs to investigate and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse and served as a key participant in establishing a corporate ethics and compliance program. Also, selected for a Fellowship for The Brookings Institution, Mr. Carter spent a year as a Legislative Assistant to Congressman Scott Klug, (R, WI) where he oversaw the Congressman's participation in programs for the privatization of government functions and the auditing and financial reorganization of Capitol Hill operations. A former diplomat, Professor Foster has also worked in information technology, education, the legal field and international development. Professor Foster frequently consults for several domestic and international companies on IT and business projects. She also consults for several major publishers on textbook development and new educational technology and serves on several focus groups relating to the development of new instructional materials. Professor Foster teaches in one of three disciplines: international business, information technology and business management. She has taught at both two year and four year colleges. In addition to consulting, Professor Foster also teaches at John Tyler Community College, and Central Texas College. She is currently working on a number of articles for publication in the field of international business and management. She is a member of the Board of Computer CORE and a member of the Academy of Legal Studies in Business. |

Name: Barbara Johnson Department: BUS Description: Professor Barbara Johnson has been an Adjunct Professor with Stratford University since January 2007 teaching business-related courses. Her previous teaching assignments include working as an Adjunct Professor at the Bryant & Stratton College in Richmond for four years and as a military instructor teaching personnel and finance classes for about eleven years. Her current full-time position is working for the Federal Government as an Information Technology Specialist--performing mostly portfolio management, information technology governance and enterprise architecture tasks. She is also a retired Army Reservist with over 30 years of federal government service (both military and civil service). Ms. Johnson has completed a Master of Science in Administration (concentrating in Information Resource Management) from the Central Michigan University in 2004. In addition, she has completed a Bachelor in Business in 1987 (concentrating heavily in Accounting); become a member of the Army Acquisition Corps; and received Acquisition Certification in Information Technology, Project Management, and Logistics Management. Ms. Johnson recently began working on a Master of Science in Accounting program in October 2008 with Liberty University. A graduate from North Carolina Wesleyan College with a dual BS in Accounting and Business Administration, Prof. Phillis went on to pursue a Masters of Accounting from Devry. She is currently working on obtaining a CPA license in North Carolina. She began her career as a staff accountant with a fund administrator and quickly realized that she preferred public accounting. She then transitioned to public accounting where she spent several years in personal and corporate tax, performing duties such as tax compliance, personal and corporate tax returns, and performed audits on school systems and not for profit organizations. While working in public accounting Prof. Phillis decided to pursue a career in academics as well. A few years ago she decided to also pursue a teaching career where she has taught several years of traditional face to face accounting courses, hybrids, and online. |

Professor Denise Miller worked for the government for 23 years. She began her career in the United States Army and later worked as a lead auditor for a government inspector general agency. As an auditor, Professor Denise Miller was responsible for leading team members to the completion of nationwide complex audits. She has also been an active member of the Institute of Internal Auditors since 2006. In 2009, Professor Denise Miller decided to pursue a career in her passion, academia teaching. Name: Dr. Chandra Ranade Department: BUS Description: Dr. Ranade has a long experience in economic development, project analysis and management, econometrics and planning, and mathematics. He did Master of Statistics (in Econometrics and Planning in 1969) from the Indian Statistical Institute, Calcutta, India; Ph.D. from Cornell University in international agricultural development (in 1977); and Master of Arts in Teaching from Johns Hopkins University (in 2005). He has published numerous articles on various topics in international development, mathematical economics and vertically integrated organizations. During his professorship at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad he was involved in teaching courses and doing consultancy in managerial economics, marketing organizations, cooperative organizations and international finance (World Bank). During his long tenure at the World Bank Dr. Ranade worked on several countries in Sub Saharan Africa, Transition Economies of the Former Soviet Union, Middle East, Nepal, Vietnam and the Philippines. In the World Bank he was involved in preparing, appraising and supervising numerous Bank financed projects, in preparing sector reports and in organizing training programs for trainers and policy makers. |

Name: Zia Rawish Department: BUS Description: Professor A. Zia Rawish received his BA in economics from Kabul University, Kabul-Afghanistan. He has also completed many undergraduate classes in Accounting, Finance, and Statistics. Since Prof Rawish graduated first not only in his classes but in six departments, he was able to become faculty member at Kabul University. He accepted teaching career partly to avoid military service in Afghanistan not to fight against his own countrymen and partly because of love for teaching and learning. He taught at Kabul University Economics, Finance, and Mathematics classes for more than 5 years. While teaching there, he completed all course work towards his MA/MBA in National Economic Planning and Business Administration concentrated in Finance.Since the condition of living got worse in Afghanistan, like many other Afghans, he got to flee Afghanistan. In Peshawar, Pakistan, he worked with the United Nations Demining Head Quarters as a Finance Officer. In July of 1991, Prof Rawish was awarded the Weber Scholarship (formerly known as Fulbright) so he left United Nations to come to the United States to study economics at the University of Missouri in Kansas City where he received his MA in Economics. Since 1995, he has been teaching at Strayer University Economics, Mathematics, and Finance classes. He has been teaching at Stratford University since 2000. Prof Rawish has worked in economics, finance, and investment related fields. He has a consulting business license in Virginia and since 1997 has been researching global financial markets. His research interests consist of investment in foreign currencies and stocks. He is also interested in global poverty reduction or elimination. |

Name: Mohammad Espahrom Department: CIS Description: Mohammad Espahrom studied computer and management information systems in Washington DC, where he received his Master degree in MIS in 1990. From 1990 till 2001, he engaged in training and teaching computer network courses in different schools and he appointed as director of education in a computer networking company called Netinterlink. He also worked in Georgetown University as an Operating Systems Analyst dealing with doctors databases and assisted as a network administrator for doctor referral services. From 2001-2003 he worked as an active network security faculty at ECPI college. In January 2004, he joined the School of Information Technology at Stratford University as Lead Faculty and Student Advisor. He manages faculty and academic affairs at the Woodbridge Campus. He has also established multiple student clubs such as the Information Technology Club, Certification Club, and Sports Club. He created a newsletter for IT Students which is published quarterly. He conducted many presentations in IT Club meetings. He has been an instructor at several other colleges over the past 7 year, teaching web design, graphic design, layout, and interactive media. Prior to becoming a teacher, Josh worked for several consulting firms as a web/graphic designer/programmer/manager, and for government branches like The Federal Highway Administration and Indian Health Services. Later, he was an UI Developer and Human Factors designer for a (then) rising "dot com" called Spaceworks. In college, Josh worked on film/commercial productions at the College of Santa Fe, trained in classical animation at University of Central Florida (UCF), and interned at Maryland Public Television’s (MPT), on the show "Motorweek". Name: Richard Lanier Department: CIS Description: Since 1976, Richard Lanier has earned his living as a professional photographer. His experience includes eleven years as a corporate staff photographer, lab technician and graphic arts photographer. In 1982 he started his own photography business. He has produced marketing and communications photography for companies, including Xerox, Sprint, Marriott, Lockheed Martin and EDS. Mr. Lanier has a BFA degree in Visual Communications with a concentration in Web Design from American Intercontinental University, and an AAS degree in Photography/Studio Specialization from Northern Virginia Community College. He has also attended The Winona School of Professional Photography and participated in workshops with prominent professional photographers. Name: Joe Cacciola Department: CUL Description: Joe, a native of New England, was influenced by his Mother, Father, and various Italian Aunts and Uncles, to have a deep appreciation of great food. He spent much of his youth cooking for friends and family alike. Joe attended Johnson and Wales University in Providence RI. He graduated in 1993 Magna cum Laude, and was a member of the silver key honor society. After graduating school he worked his way from Sous Chef to Head Chef at Clearwaters Restaurant in Connecticut. After Clearwaters, Joe joined Hay Day Markets/Balducci’s in Westport CT as the Executive Chef, After spending some time in that position, Joe was promoted to Store Manager. He made his way down to Virginia in 2002 and moved to the corporate side of the company, where he became the company Purchasing Agent. Joe has been at Stratford University since January of 2007. Joe lives in Virginia with his wife Julie, and daughter Nina. He still likes to spend time cooking for friends and family. Joe also studies ancient and medieval history when time permits. |

Name: Jeremy Corn Department: CUL Description: Jeremy Corn was born and raised in Austin, Texas where he lived until his graduation from high school. Over the following years he lived in Kentucky, New Mexico and Tennessee before finally settling in Colorado in 1997. He attended culinary school at the Art Institute of Colorado, where he graduated with honors in the Fall of 1999. He finished his Bachelor of Arts in English at the Metropolitan State College of Denver in the Winter of 2004, then enrolled in the Business School at the University of Colorado in 2005. He finished his MBA in the Summer of 2006 after an intensive 11-month program of study that focused on management, leadership and entrepreneurship. Jeremy and his family relocated to Alexandria, Virginia in the summer of 2007 and he joined the faculty at Stratford University that fall. Jeremy has worn many hats during his restaurant career. His kitchen experience includes working as a dishwasher, prep cook, line cook and sous chef. The vast majority of Jeremy’s experience, though, is in the dining room. He has been a busser, host, bar back, food runner, server, bartender, sommelier, bar manager and dining room manager. He has worked in many different types of establishments, from casual dining chain operations to chef-owned fine dining restaurants. In addition to these experiences Jeremy has been a food writer and photographer, a field operative and communications consultant for state-level elections in Colorado, a writer and producer for a documentary film production company, a copywriter in ecommerce, an instructor of cooking technique and wine knowledge, and an award winning writer of poetry and plays. Jeremy is a Certified Culinarian by the American Culinary Federation. He is a Certified Wine Sommelier, Chef of Wine Arts and Cellar Master by the International Wine Guild. He studied foie gras production and preparation at l’Ecole Hôtelière du Périgord, management technique at the University of Glasgow, and wine production of the Bordeaux region at the Ecole du Vin. |

Name: Charleen Huebner Department: CUL Description: Chef Charleen Huebner is originally from Smithtown, New York. She graduated from Long Island University at C.P. Post with a B.A. in Foreign Language. In 1993 she earned an A.O.S. degree in Culinary Arts from the Culinary Institute of America and returned the same year to obtain a degree in Baking and Pastry. Upon graduation she went to work for the Frenchman’s Reef Hotel in St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. After returning to the States, Chef Huebner moved to Washington D.C. where she worked for Didier Schoner at Café/Patisserie Didier in Georgetown. In 1995 she went to work for the Ritz Carlton at Pentagon City, working various positions from Garde Manger to Pastry for 6 years. Then, Chef Huebner became the Executive Chef at Splendid Fare Catering Company. She joined forces with her classmate Chef James Sinopoli in a joint venture called Chef of the Hill, a boutique caterer/personal chef business. She is a member of Women for Women International, an organization that helps women survivors of war move from crisis and poverty to self-sufficiency. Chef Huebner has been with Stratford University for the past 4 years. |

Name: Richard King C.E.C., C.C.E. Department: CUL Description: Chef Richard King began his career as an art historian, with a Fulbright Fellowship at the University of Cologne in Germany, followed by M.A. and M.Phil. degrees at Columbia University. After two years of post-graduate study in Paris on a Woodrow Wilson Fellowship, he taught art history for four years at Rutgers University as an Assistant Professor. In 1983 he returned to Paris to take cooking classes at LaVarenne and Cordon Bleu schools and, at the same time, he apprenticed with Master Chef Pierre Vedel at the restaurant Chez Pierre Vedel. In 1988 he was graduated from the Philadelphia Restaurant School where he also apprenticed with Chef Jean-Francois Taquet, who had been a student of the world-renowned Chef Freddy Girardet of Crissier, Switzerland. After restaurant cooking positions with Chef Jeff Tunks at the River Club and Chef Rick Steffan at 1789, Chef King became Executive Chef of Washington Parties Catering Company, where he remained for almost four years. As Executive Chef he supervised numerous major events in the Washington area, including President Bill Clinton’s 1994 birthday party in Oxon Hill, Maryland. Chef King took a full-time teaching position at Stratford University in the fall of 1996. |

Name: Ruth K. Lee CHE Department: HOS Description: Ruth Lee graduated from Widener University located in Chester, PA with top honors in her class of 1995. While studying at the university, Ruth started making contacts with industry leaders through memberships in various on campus clubs. Upon graduation, Ruth took a management trainee position with the award winning Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Philadelphia’s Center City. There, she started her career in hotel operations starting at the front desk and left as the Concierge Manager. With a promotion, Ruth headed to beautiful island of Maui (where her family is from). She was the Assistant Manager for the Housekeeping Department at the Four Seasons Wailea Resort. Ruth quickly proved herself and within three years became the Resort Assistant Manager. In charge of all daily operations of the resort including personally handing vacations for stars like Oprah Winfrey, John Travolta, and Eddie Murphy. Four years ago, Ruth returned to the East Coast. She worked for Congressional Country located in Potomac, Maryland. This elite private golf country club has hosted events like US Senior Open, US Open and recently the Booz Allen Open. Ruth was the Assistant Clubhouse Manager before The historic Mayflower Renaissance Hotel in downtown Washington D.C. recruited her to help manager the $25 million room renovation. Ruth recently joined the Stratford team full time three years ago and completed her Certified Hospitality Educator’s Certification in 2007. |

After several years of working in the admissions office at NYU School of Medicine, she made the decision to follow her passion for cooking and baking and enrolled at the Academy of Culinary Arts in Mays Landing, NJ in January 2002. She graduated with top honors and earned her Baking and Pastry Certificate in December of 2005. Chef Lee’s experience has been centered on upscale restaurants along the New Jersey shoreline. Chef Lee has been with Stratford University since December of 2006. |

Name: Dwannal McGahee Department: HOS Description: McGahee spent 16 years working in the hospitality industry, starting entry-level as a bellman and quickly progressing up the ranks to become a Director of Human Resources. A native of Alabama, McGahee received his Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations from Florida A&M University and his Master of Arts degree in Human Resource Management from Marymount University. He has been affiliated with Fairfax County Public Schools for the past 5 years where he teaches hospitality management, marketing and sports and entertainment marketing. McGahee is a member of the American Hotel and Lodging Association, Virginia Association of Marketing Educators and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. McGahee is the father of one son Lamar and is the owner of an on-line travel business. |

Name: Brian Miller Department: HOS Description: Brian has been with Stratford since the fall semester of 2007. He teaches various courses within our Hospitality Management program. Brian began his career in the travel and tourism industry with Pan Am World Airways. Shortly after leaving Pan Am, he began his career with Marriott International within the Front Office of the Dulles Marriott Suites. As a 17 year Marriott leader he has been fortunate to work at diverse types of units in various positions of escalating responsibility. Brian has also worked at the Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort, Golf Club and Spa; Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center, Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor at Camden Yards; and Dulles Airport Marriott; Dulles Suites Marriott; and the Tysons Corner Marriott. He has held many different positions during his tenure from Director of Room Operations, Director of Event Planning and Operations, to his current role as Business Analyst at the corporate headquarters. Brian is magna cum laude graduate from Northern Virginia Community College with an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts. He has also graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Old Dominion University. Not stopping there, Brian is currently pursuing his MBA with an anticipated completion date of spring 2010. Brian is active within the local community. He is a current soccer coach within the Ashburn Soccer Club and prior to that with the Sterling Youth Soccer Association. |

Name: James Sinopoli C.E.P.C. Department: CUL Description: At an early age it was clear that James Sinopoli was destined to be a chef. As one of seven children who shared household chores, he was the unanimous choice to feed the family come dinner time. Chef James Sinopoli followed his passion serving as apprentice, sous chef and eventually head chef in restaurants, country clubs and private businesses through his late teens and early twenties. Chef Sinopoli graduated with an A.O.S in Baking and Pastry from the Culinary Institute of America with Honors in 1994. His subsequent experience varies from serving as Chef in prestigious hotels, boutique chocolate shops as well as a castle in Ireland. He owns and operates a high-end catering company on Capitol Hill. For several years Chef Sinopoli served foreign heads-of-state and US Government officials at The Blair House in Washington DC. The Blair House is home to visitors of The White House. Chef Sinopoli has been a culinary educator for more than 10 years. He spent six years as Chef Instructor at the Baltimore International Culinary College in Baltimore, Maryland, where he ultimately became the Director of the School of Culinary Arts. In 2000, Chef Sinopoli earned his Certified Executive Pastry Chef certification through the American Culinary Federation. He has been a Chef Instructor at Stratford University in Falls Church, Virginia since 2002. His students rave about his passion, experience and occasionally quirky teaching methods. He is a dedicated innovator, mentor and culinary artist. Chef Sinopoli often volunteers his services to important causes. He is a regular guest at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC, where he has decorated cookies with young patients for special visitors such as Queen Elizabeth II and First Lady Laura Bush. He has cooked for injured war veterans at Walter Reed as well as taking up other causes like our environment. He can be seen frequently marching on Capitol Hill (where he calls home) for one reason or another! |

Chef Watford gained Classical French cooking skills while working for French Master Chef Jean Campagne of Le Bergerie in Alexandria, Virginia and The Bleu Rock Inn, Washington Virginia. Additional culinary experience includes opening Restaurant Chef for The Potomac Grille and Banquet Chef, Lansdowne Resort, Leesburg, Virginia. Chef Watford has also partnered his own restaurant, The Old Post Office, Edisto Island, South Carolina, specializing in Low-Country Cuisine. Cindy brings to Stratford over 15 years of practical experience in the Hotel industry, and held a variety of positions such as, Sales Manager, Director of Sales & Marketing, Director of Training, Director of Human Resources, and Vice President of Corporate Services responsible for Human Resources, Training and Development, Payroll, and Management Information Systems for one of the top 100 Hotel Companies in the United States. She was responsible for 22 hotel properties with over 2,000 employees! In 2002, Cindy left the campus classroom and pioneered Stratford’s Distance Learning Program, as Faculty and Administrator. She now teaches online in Stratford’s Distance Learning Hospitality Program. Cindy, a vivacious and energetic public speaker and facilitator, has extensive experience in teaching and industry training and development, she’s brought that to the online learning environment. She has the ability to take any topic and make it fun and interesting and more importantly her students can apply what they learn. Her graduates are the proof holding hospitality positions with top companies such as The Palm Restaurants, Ritz Carlton Hotels, Four Seasons Hotels, Hyatt Hotels and others! Name: Dr. Tadesse Alemayehu Addisu Department: MED Description: Dr. Tadesse Alemayehu Addisu started his academic career at Gondar College of Medical Sciences, later becoming a general practitioner with internal medicine, OBGYN, pediatric, public health administration and surgery experience. He worked as an Assistant Professor at a prosthetic and orthotic training and rehabilitation center and founded a bone and soft tissue tumor registry unit, the first of its kind for research purposes. Dr. Addisu has also worked with the International Red Cross organizing orthopedic trauma units. Dr. Addisu is a certified Assiut/SICOT fellow and won the CAC scholarship from the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons in 2003. He is also an annual participant in the Orthopedic Pathology Review at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. |

Name: Yared Wondmikun Endailalu M.D., PhD, IFME Department: MED Description: Dr. Endailalu received his M.D. from Addis Ababa University. He earned his Ph.D. in human Physiology under Dr. Med Habil G. Asmussen from the University of Leipzig, Germany and completed his International Fellowship in Medical Education (IFME) under Dr. Rick Vari at the University of North Dakota. He began his academic career at the Gondar College of Medical Sciences in 1995 where he was promoted to physiology professor. Dr. Endailalu served as Dean of the medical school from 2001-2004. His primary research interests are micro-nutrition, HIV/AIDS, and academic medicine. He has published more than 35 peer-reviewed articles and he is the editorial advisor for the Ethiopian Journal of Health and Biomedical Sciences and the Horn of Africa Journal of AIDS. Dr. Endailalu joined the Stratford University School of Health Sciences in 2008, focusing his teaching methods on patho-physiology, anatomy and medical language. |

Name: Dr. Margarita Colon Department: GENED Description: Dr Margarita Colon possesses a Ph.D. in clinical Psychology from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. She graduated with a GPA of 3.92 after completing her dissertation: The Prevalence of Specific Psychiatric Disorders in a Sample of Veterans with a History of Substance Abuse, and a one-year internship at the VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System, an APA-accredited internship. Her primary research interest has been the study of dually diagnosed population and cultural diversity issues. She has been involved in Clinical Research since 2003. On September 2008 she joined the Center of Excellence for Research on Returning War Veterans as a Post-Doctoral Fellow. She has also been involved in community mental health crisis unit team, forensic team, and inpatient acute psychiatry for adolescents, adults, and geriatric unit. She is currently part of the Arlington County Forensic Team where she performs as Bilingual Therapist II for the Drinking in Public Diversion Program. She joined Stratford University School of Business on January 4, 2010 as a social science professor. She is current teaching Psychology 320 Human Growth and Development and hopes to continue to teach and contribute to the new generation of professionals that trusted our University with their education. In a personal note she is a mother and a grandmother of two beautiful girls to whom she dedicates her work and her quality of time. In her free time she enjoys reading, writing, and cooking. |

Name: Dr. Mark Dreisonstok Department: HUM/ENG Description: Mark Dreisonstok holds a Ph.D. degree from Georgetown University, an M.A. from the University of Freiburg, Germany, and a B.A. from Eckerd College, Saint Petersburg, Florida. Prior to becoming the lead instructor in English and Humanities at Stratford University, Dr. Dreisonstok taught courses at Georgetown University, George Washington University, George Mason University, and Marymount University. His teaching positions abroad have included instruction at language institutes in Japan and Hong Kong. In addition to his role as professor, Dr. Dreisonstok has served as a language translator for Dutch and German, translating everything from current export licenses to medieval medical books. His articles have appeared in Monatshefte, The Scottish Rite Journal, and Annapolis Outlook. Dr. Dreisonstok is currently co-editing a book of essays on the Heliand, a medieval epic poem. He is also in the process of publishing his dissertation research comparing Beowulf and the Heliand. Courses he teaches for Stratford University include College Composition, Advanced Composition and Research, the American Experience, World Literature, Understanding World Cultures, and Principles of Ethics. |

The typical lifelong learner, she will finish a Master of Science degree in instructional design and technology from UND in August 2007. Dr Pringle joined Stratford University as a part-time faculty member in October of 2005. She has 20 years of experience as a writer, editor, and educator, more recently specializing in online learning. In additions to teaching in Stratford’s online program, she is an instructional designer for Athabasca University. Teaching for Stratford helps her in stay touch with the needs of online learners. |

Name: Eve Speer Department: HUM Description: Eve Speer is an adjunct professor at Stratford University. She holds a Master of Letters and a Master of Fine Arts in Shakespeare and Renaissance Literature in Performance, with an emphasis in acting, from Mary Baldwin College. She studied Theatre and Media Arts at Brigham Young University. Her Master of Letters research dealt specifically with audience interaction in Shakespearian plays and, more broadly, the relationship between the player and the hearer in Renaissance dramatic literature. She currently serves on the Humanities Board of Virginia’s Junebug Center, and continues to work as an actor, director, and producer for various regional theatre companies. |
