Nursing practice is both a caring art and a human science that is developed using nursing knowledge, theory, and research within a holistic, caring framework. Nursing education at Stratford introduces the science and theory of nursing and the art of caring while assisting students to develop or enhance their practical skills.
Exceptional Degrees
Registered nurses educated at the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or (RN to BSN) level utilize theory and evidence-based practice to provide safe, quality, patient-centered care. Nurses care for patients by using clinical judgment, critical thinking, and knowledge of best practices. Stratford graduates are eligible to sit for the Virginia State Licensing Board Exam which provides multi-state practice privileges.

All faculty are licensed in the State of Virginia and have either the MSN or NP along with expertise in specialty areas such as maternal child health, medical surgical nursing, nursing policy etc.

In addition to small class sizes, Stratford University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) uses simulation labs, clinical agencies across the spectrum of health care, and internship experiences to create an environment where competency-based learning can flourish. It prepares graduates for nursing practice, leadership roles, and graduate study.
Scheduling Flexibility
Residential Nursing classes are offered during the day to match your busy schedule. All residential classes are blended with a portion of the course delivered online to reduce the time in the classroom. You can complete a class in only ten weeks and start your program five times a year. The accelerated programs at Stratford University allow students to finish a Bachelors degree in 30 months.
