A Nigerian cooking show similar to "Top Chef" has returned to Baltimore to film its finale.
The reality show, "Making of the Chef," filmed its Season 1 finale in Baltimore last year, and it's back this week to tape the second season's ending at Stratford University.
Hosted by chef Edwin Scholly, an instructor at Stratford University, the show takes 20 competitors — weeded out from a field of more than 15,000 entrants, Scholly said — who compete for a grand prize of $30,000.
"Making of the Chef" takes "anybody with a passion for cooking,” Scholly said.
"This is not basically for your professional chef. He can enter or she can enter, but it’s open to anybody, and I’ve seen some housewives beat some professional chefs,” Scholly said. "This is why it’s a reality show. This is why we don’t make it a pro league.”
