Online Frequently Asked Questions

Online courses develop communication and critical thinking skills.....exactly what employers are seeking!

What are the online admissions requirements?

The University does not differentiate admission, graduation, and program requirements between online programs and residential programs. The admission process for an online program is the same as for a residential program. Please visit our Admissions page for further information.

What are some typical online activities?

In an online environment, students work independently, completing Internet-based reading assignments and communicating with instructors and other students by email and discussion boards. The courses are delivered through asynchronous classroom hours and virtual faculty office hours. Synchronous review sessions and chats may also be scheduled to facilitate learning. Weekly homework assignments are submitted online and students are required to complete quizzes, examinations, and other assignments using the distance learning platform.

What type of degree will I receive?

The online program is equivalent in all ways to the residential program. The same academic rigor, that is applied to the residential program, is applied to the online program. The diploma that you will receive after completion of the degree will not indicate that you took an online program. It will the be same diploma that is given to all graduates.

Is there an online orientation prior to class?

Yes. All new students are required to take the Distance Learning Orientation when they enroll for the first online course. The orientation is provided to the students at no cost.
